“Editors-meets-Manchester Orchestra”
The Line Of Best Fit

“An ode to Interpol; diving in and out of huge anthemic vocals and a delirious post-punk haze.”
The 405

“The dark and brooding sounds of Bristol five-piece Idles had me entranced on first listen. Whether it is the sinister 26/27 or the pulsating aggression of MEYDEI, you can’t help but falling into an emotion-filled trance. It’s messy, it’s spitting attitude, and it’s fucking perfect.”
Blue Walrus

“Blending brooding, moody vibes with chiming, building guitars, Idles create an Interpol like sound with a dusky natural quality. Check out '26/27' from the EP, a chilling slice of confusingly uplifting gloom.”
Middle Boop Magazine

"The Bristol five-piece take you on a journey through dark and unnerving soundscapes, that both thrill and unsettle in equal measure"
Gold Flake Paint

After putting on a local indie club night called 'Batcave', Joe Talbot (Vocals) and Adam Devonshire (Bass) took their shared love for MTV2's 120 minutes and the need for a creative outlet and started what would become Idles. In the space of only 18 months the band has grown from the two of them sat in their flat playing the same basslines again and again to a fully-fledged five piece. More than that, the bands honesty and love for their craft has seen them become one of the best up-and-coming bands that Bristol has to offer.

Idles sound has always been a hard one to categorise, but imagine something between the intense rock and roll of The Walkmen and the dark post-punk of Joy Division and you'll be somewhere close. However, anyone who has witnessed the bands live show will confirm that they are very much about doing their own thing. Joe's vocals have the yearnings of soul and the rage of punk, all riding on the blissfully driven basslines of Dev - This is more than complimented by the spiky dual guitars of Andy S and Mark Bowen and the logic-defying drumming of Jon Beavis - carving out a fully-charged live show that is as thrilling as it is unforgettable.
